Dr. Dirk Krausmüller

Dirk Krausmüller studied Classics and Byzantine History at the universities of Gießen and of Munich where he obtained a master’s degree (1981-1987). From 1991 to 2001 he studied at Queen’s University of Belfast where he obtained a doctoral degree. From 2001 to 2006 and 2008 to 2017 he worked as a temporary lecturer at Queen’s University Belfast, Cardiff University, and Mardin Artuklu Üniversitesi. From 2017 to 2020 Dr. Krausmüller was a member of the ERC Project 9SALT, led by Prof. Christophe Erismann and based at Vienna University. Since 2016 he has been an affiliate member of the Moving Byzantium project, while from 1 May 2020 until 30 April 2021 he is employed as a full-time researcher at the Moving Byzantium project (University of Vienna).

  • Late Antique and Byzantine Trinitarian Theology, Christology, Anthropology and Cosmology
  • Byzantine Hagiography
  • The Monastic Discourse in Constantinople and the Provinces
